The foundation of Stress Dis-Ease is being closed to possibilities and lacking confidence to change
A state of Dis-Ease begins when we shut ourselves off from new possibilities. This often shows up as defensiveness towards understanding how our bodies work and denying how our habits harm our health. Common thoughts include “I won’t change my diet,” “I like what I like,” “I don’t have time to cook,” or “I can’t cook.” There is a strong resistance to embracing the potential for learning, thinking more openly, and being willing to accept new ideas that could change our perspective.
Being closed to new possibilities limits us and can lead to discomfort, often stemming from a lack of confidence in facing change. Change is essential to our growth and survival. However, the stress of modern life can make us seek comfort instead of engaging with the necessary changes. We often say things like, "I like it this way," "This reminds me of home," or "I deserve this," to justify our resistance to change. While we all go through changes in life, some are forced upon us, making us feel obliged rather than free to choose. Forced changes in our lives can feel distinctly uncomfortable, which prevents us from fully embracing the notion of change and ultimately learning to develop the confidence required to navigate it effectively.

The harm we cause our bodies in the 21st century is significant and must be addressed for our health, happiness, and longevity. Our inner state depends on what we eat, how we move, and our choices made in our environment. By consuming ultra-processed foods, not exercising, and exposing ourselves to toxins, we harm our cells. Our culture is always changing, with both positive and negative effects. Technology and the pandemic have deeply affected our connections and communication. As social beings, we thrive on seeing and hearing each other. Our bonds and sense of purpose shape our spiritual and energetic world. Isolation and fear of criticism can lead to a feeling of disconnection and the stress of detachment. When we lose our sense of purpose, we may feel lost and drained of energy and love, making it hard to move forward confidently and with ease.
